Terray Sylvester is a freelance news and editorial photographer based in northern Oregon. His clients have included Reuters, Getty, Bloomberg, The Guardian, Outside Online, the New Yorker Online and other outlets. Two of his photos for Reuters from the protests against the Dakota Access Oil Pipeline were recognized as among the best images of 2017 by the Wall Street Journal and Yahoo. More recently, Newsweek selected one of his photos from the eruption of Kilauea on Hawaii's Big Island as one of the definitive images of June 2018. In the past, Terray has worked as a writer and newspaper editor. Those skills complement his photography.
Terray is available for assignments in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. He welcomes inquiries on his rates and availability, and looks forward to talking with new clients.
